Each custom leather patch is a unique piece of organic material. So, while you may see two designs that appear to be the same, they may each react to the tanning process differently, and that results in minor color variations.
Additionally, because leather is derived from animal skin, it also contains small impressions and scars that contribute to differences in finish. As a natural fiber, leather tends to darken with age. It simply adds to the richness of the material.
